We’re looking again at the Lord’s Sermon on the Mount. Though Jesus was speaking before a great crowd of people on a hillside in Galilee, His teaching was primarily for His true disciples, for those who had placed saving faith in Him. Because Jesus’ concern was for all souls, His teaching about the traits of true faith & godly living would expose the unbelieving & draw many of them, who were trusting in their own external righteousness, to Him by faith for salvation. But let’s be clear—the principles He teaches here are for true believers. They are impossible to live out apart from the Spirit of GOD’s power.
