Bible Passage: Jeremiah 7:16-29
Jeremiah preached, but nobody listened. He poured his heart out & preached repent of sin & return to the Lord as best he could by GOD’s help, but the people did not listen. Judah’s heart was far from GOD & she should have heeded Jeremiah’s preaching; but instead the people became angry with Jeremiah. They saw him as their enemy & wanted him dead. At this point, Jeremiah must have concluded, “There’s nothing more to do but pray!”
To his surprise, GOD says:
Jer 7:16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
