The Resurrection

If you listen to the evangelism of Christians & the preaching of ministers today, you’d come to the persuasion that the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the key element in the record of the Gospel & that Jesus’ resurrection is simply a minor detail in the story; but that’s not the case. Not to diminish the cross in anyway, because the cross is critically important, but if Jesus Christ simply died & was buried & did not come back from the grave, then He cannot be the Savior of the world any more than you or I can. Friends, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just something we celebrate once a year at Easter with our families. The resurrection is the most important doctrine of the Bible because if Jesus didn’t do what He said He would do, which was to come back from the grave after 3 days, we can’t believe anything that He said; we can’t be sure that GOD accepted His sacrifice; we have no real hope & in the words of Paul, “our faith is vain.” But if Jesus died & He did indeed come back from the grave, that event has eternal significance & provides the foundation upon which everything else that Christ claimed rests.
