The King Before The King

Throughout the Old Testament, God gave both word prophecies and prophetic pictures that testify of His Son, and until we see Christ there we do not truly understand it. One of the clearest of those pictures is King David. Chosen by God from among the sons of Jesse, the youngest and eighth son, a ruddy shepherd boy from Bethlehem whom Samuel would have overlooked, David pictures Jesus as the rightful King God Himself has chosen. A man after God's own heart, David gives a faint glimpse of the perfectly righteous King in whom the Father delights.
