The God of Second Chances
When you have failed, fallen or made a mess of things, is that the end of the story? Many people live as if their past has the final word. The Bible shows a God who does not give up on His people when they fall.
Key Verse: "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God." - James 2:23 (KJV)
Preaching from James 2, Drew Carson points to Abraham, who simply believed God, and to Rahab the harlot, whose faith was proved when she hid the spies. He reminds us of Lazarus, who ran into the God of second chances and came out of the grave. Whether it's a failing marriage, a broken home or a past full of mistakes, God is able to mend what we have broken and rewrite our future.
God is the God of second chances. If you will simply believe Him, He can still do more with your life than you ever imagined.
