During the Easter season, we, as most Christian assemblies, revisit the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ crucifixion. This practice is a wonderful opportunity to renew our appreciation & worship of the Lamb of GOD who was slain for us. Throughout those sacred hours of our Lord’s Passion in which the Prince of Glory was nailed to the cross & suspended between heaven & earth, the Lord Jesus Christ spoke 7 times. Those 7 utterances from the cross are significant. They were Jesus’ last words. One has written that last words reveal the true nature of a person, for in the face of death, what a person truly thinks, feels, & believes will generally surface. That was certainly true of Jesus in His final hours.
