Empowered for the Mission

In fast-growing communities around Salt Lake City, there are towns of 21,000 people and more with no gospel-preaching church. That means thousands of people go about their lives without even a chance of meeting someone who could tell them how to be saved.

Key Verse: "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." - Acts 1:8 (KJV)

Matthew Bateman, missionary to Utah, shares how God saved him and called him into the ministry, and then preaches from the book of Acts on the gospel God has entrusted to His people. The early church was assembled and waiting on the Lord when the power came. They prayed, the Spirit empowered them, the Word was preached and persecution followed. He shows that the same pattern holds true for every church today, whether in Utah or in Spartanburg.

God has entrusted the gospel to us. Be found faithful in praying, preaching and pressing forward for the cause of Christ.
