The Victory In Gethsemane

The final days of Jesus’ earthly ministry was filled with many events, all setting the stage for GOD’s redemption plan. While the climax of this plan would playout at the cross of Calvary, Gethsemane was the doorway of Calvary. Before the Lord’s hands & feet were pierced at Calvary, His soul was pierced in the garden called Gethsemane. In those few hours at Gethsemane, when Jesus reaffirmed, “...not My will but Yours be done,” He won the battle over His own humanity which removed His final obstacle on the way to forging an eternal communion between GOD & repentant sinners. For this reason, many scholars have said, “Victory was paid for at Calvary, but it was won in Gethsemane.”
