Heaven’s Bread: Eat It or Leave It - Part 1

Among the followers of Jesus Christ are many counterfeits. While they identify as Christians, in reality they are deceived phonies; they are fakes. Externally, they may appear to be Christ’s disciples, but upon closer investigation they prove that inwardly they have never been regenerated. Church, this is not a new problem & it will persist until the Return of Jesus Christ.

John chapter 6 highlights the fact that not all disciples are true. While all believers are disciples, not all disciples are believers. The Lord Jesus knew from the beginning those who did not possess saving faith & He still offered Himself as the Bread of Life to them. To their own peril, according to verse 66, when the Truth of Christ became too difficult for them to hear, many of Jesus’ disciples defected & walked away from Him. They evidenced that they were not true disciples, they had never been saved. 

This morning & tonight we will look at this passage to hear Jesus’ invitation as the The Bread of Life & also identify the distinctions between true & false disciples.
